Google Wonder Wheel - Best Keyword Search Tool - SEO adsense

>> Saturday, March 13, 2010

In May of 2009 Google offered a new feature to assist in finding the best keywords for your website and blog.  It is a great, new, totally free feature.  It is called Wonder Wheel.

The Google Wonder Wheel is a wheel of relevant search terms and provides a visual display of these terms.  In the middle of the wheel is the keyword you searched and radiating from that center point are the most searched keywords.  You can click on any of those keywords and another wheel will be displayed.

Here is how you find this great tool.  Go to google.com and type in and work like "apple iphone" in the search bar.  Then click on the “show more options” link on the top left side.  The Google Wonder Wheel will be displayed on half of your google screen.  As you continue to play, and click on any of the keywords displayed your graphic will grow and grow - along with your creativity.

Make Money with your blog with Adsense keywords - SEO traffic

>> Friday, March 12, 2010

Google adsense is one of the best affiliate sites to use.  Whenever anyone clicks on a link at your site, you get paid.

The appearance of your ads can affect the amount of click throughs you get. You can choose the color and borders of your ads to fit right in with the color scheme on your site if you wish, but it’s worth experimenting with having no borders at all around your advertisements since this makes them blend in with your content more seamlessly and may encourage more click in a subtle but effective manner.

Even when you integrate Google Adsense into your current blog or website, there is  a limit to the amount of money you can make from one site. If you get tons of people visiting your site then you can expect to get a good income.  If don’t get a big number of visitors you will need a separate strategy to try and up your numbers.

In this case you can go to the advanced level of Adsense income and think about starting several sites, all based around a different yet popular subject. You will find that you can get lots of traffic to a site but people aren't clicking on the ads.  You then place a different kind of site and notice more results.  It will take experimentation on your part.

Remember, even if you are not get clicks on your ads, you can direct the traffic you are getting from that high volume site to one of your other sites that is performing better.  5% CTR is considered to be very good.

Types of google ads:
  • Google AdSense for Content - A variety of size and shape ads for placing in your content are available. These can be text or image ads or both - you specify what you'll allow. Ad units are full ads. Link units are simply a strip of text links that your visitors might want to click. Google allows you to put up to 3 Ad Units and 1 Link unit on each page of your Web site, provided you follow its policies - both for AdSense and for Webmasters.
  • Google AdSense for Search - This places a search box on your Web site. When a user enters a term and conducts a search, a search results page opens, that hosts more pay-per-click ads. You can customize the color scheme of the search results page to harmonize with your web site.

Market your website - Ping your blog Posts - RSS feeds - facebook - twitter

>> Wednesday, March 10, 2010

There are a lot of ways to market your website on the internet including search engine submission, ping your blog, social networking sites like twitter and facebook.  Here is an overview of these different methods.

Submit your site to Search Engines - Search engines send robot "spiders" to index the content of your webpage.  You can go to each search engine individually and manually input your website information or use submission sites - many are free and submit to numerous sites at one time.

META Tags and keywords - This describes your website. The description should be a sentence or two describing the content of the web page, using the main keywords and key phrases on this page. Add to your websites html.

Ping your Blog -to improve the popularity of your blog and make sure the search engines can find you.  There are many free websites that with a click of a button will send you blog or website out to dozens of internet sources were you will get lots of exposure.

WHY:  to make sure your website shows up on searches

WHEN: only ping when you have added new content to your site or a new post

RSS (Rich Site Summary) - is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

Basically RSS is what is used when you subscribe to a website or blog - you get notified anytime there is new content on their site.

Headlines - Headlines are very important - use important keywords in your title of each post or entry - instead of "Home sales are rising" put "Home sales are rising - St. Louis, Mo Jefferson County Real Estate".  Make your Titles unique and expand on your theme.  This gives the search engines more words to pick up on.

Links - Links to your site from other sites drive additional traffic and increase your page rank with the search engines, getting your higher on the page.  The more the links are related to your site the better.

Social Media - chat about your website on social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc.

Comment - Search other sites that are similar in content to yours and leave a comment.  When you do this you also leave your name and the URL of your website.  This is one of the best ways to drive pertinent traffic to your website.  You make new friends too.

Bookmark - Have a bookmark on your site, so that you and others visiting can quickly share your post with others. When visitors click the button on your page, they are automatically taken to a page that allows them to choose which bookmarking service they prefer, and then pre-populates the appropriate form with the title and URL of your webpage.  Try it out now.     Share/Bookmark

Signature - use a signature in your email with the link to your website, blog, facebook, twitter, etc.
